Staying at my usual place The Hazelton Hotel - an oasis of calm and luxury during the TIFF storm. Whether I need tickets to a sold-out film premiere or a last-minute hairstylist, they just know how to make things happen.
Attending a fashion spectacle, specifically the MAC Viva Glam Fashion Cares After Party, at Maison Mercer, my new favorite Toronto nightclub. The place was packed wall-to-wall with celebs and some of the most fashionable people I have ever seen in North America.
Shopping in Yorkville and discovering new Canadian brands like Pink Tartan and Travis Taddeo whose feathered skirt (which I paired with a Caitlin Power blouse in the third picture above) garnered a lot of attention on the streets of Toronto.

Finding refuge on rooftops like the one at the Thompson and hanging out with old and new friends, as well as (literally) running into Kate Hudson in the ladies’ room (more on that here.)
Being a writer allows me to meet the most fascinating people. I always say this but it’s so true! I first met native New Yorker Lauren Bagliore at a film event and she then contacted me to write some press material before heading to LG Fashion Week to present her Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I learned a lot about Lauren and the LB label after spending time with her in her design studio. She’s truly a beautiful person – inside and out. I wasn’t able to go to Toronto for this year’s installment of LGFW but caught up with her at a local fashion party where she showcased her current F/W collection for Ratanak, a charity she strongly supports to stop human trafficking in Cambodia.
I'm wearing the Lauren Bagliore "Desiree Endless" dress here - which can be worn a million different ways
The designer label KAVI KAVI is the brainchild of my lovely friends Dipika and Ravika Gupta who recently debuted their Spring/Summer 2012 collection to a stylish crowd at Tenjune in New York City. I met the designing duo when writing for Anokhi Magazineyears ago as they were my very first interview. Since then, we’ve kept in touch and the girls have come full circle with reinventing their brand through a lengthy stint in India sourcing out some of the most beautiful fabrics and workmanship for the current collection. Ladies, the green dress is mine!
This post is long overdue from my stopover at the recent Toronto International Film Festival. Celebrity stylist Dominic from Marc Anthony Salon in Yorkville made me look red carpet ready in the morning with beautiful bouncy hair that lasted well into the wee hours of the night. I wish I had more pics to show but if you are ever in Toronto, just go visit him! He’s a sweetheart whose hands have tousled the manes of many Bollywood beauties. Thanks to the Hazelton Hotel for the awesome hookup.
