Much to all of my girlfriends’ envy, I had the pleasure of meeting hottie actor and supermodel Tyson Beckford at a bloggers’ conference in New York city during this past Fashion Week. Being the fashion ambassador for Monster, he was showing off the new Monster Inspiration headphones. His passion for fashion and music shines through our interview below making him the perfect fit for the brand. Being a writer, I’m not used to being in front of the camera or interviewing someone without being prepared, but I loved how he took control (of my iPhone) and showed me his tech savvy style as we did our impromptu interview while hordes of women looked on. It’s hard not to be crushing on this sweetheart with his charming and down-to-earth personality.
The Monster Inspirations headphones come in different materials and interchangeable headbands to suit the many moods and outfits of fashionistas. Like Tyson, my personal favourites are the studded limited edition styles with a rock ‘n roll edge. Spending most of his time on an airplane jetting from one fashion week to another, the comfort of the over-ear rectangular cups and active noise cancelation quality is super important to him.
With Tyson onboard the Monster campaign, music never sounded so good!
Isn’t London (or any city for that matter) so romantic in the rain? The pitter patter of raindrops on window sills must be one of the most soothing sounds in the world. It makes me want to just lie in bed all day with a a good book and a cup of tea. But if I do need to venture out, it’s important to have a stylish umbrella – like the one here by Anna Coroneo who I met during this recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Discovering new brands and emerging talent is one of my favorite parts of attending any fashion week as they bring a fresh perspective to what we’ve already seen. Although, in this particular case Anna discovered me seeking refuge inside Bloomingdale’s (no complaints though) as a blizzard fell upon New York that evening. We hit it off immediately and she explained how she was one of the featured designers being showcased by the department store. Anna is a talented artist whose work has been exhibited across the world and she translates that art onto beautiful fashion accessories like scarves and umbrellas. The lipstick pattern from her ‘Kisses’ collection is one of my favorites and available in a multitude of colors. You can take Anna’s scarves straight from the city streets to a beach destination, which is exactly what I did as they work great as coverups or can be twisted into a chic turban for that Indo-european look. Here are some pictures of Anna’s cutie intern Jennifer modelling the umbrella on the streets of London. Let it rain!
I attended the PARKLUXE fashion event last night featuring some of Canada’s best designers including Caitlin Power,Lauren Bagliore, Nicole Campre and Ann Bacalso. My closet is full of pieces from these designers and as a Canadian, I’m always pleased to discover and support the brilliant talent in my home country.
Other than my Valentino shoes, I was dressed in head-to-toe Canadian fashion. Here I’m wearing the Lauren Bagliore convertible ‘Desiree’ dress as a top, with a Caitlin Power pleated leather skirt over Miss Martin tights and carrying a Pink Tartan clutch. My blogger friend KD is wearing stunning accessories from Ann B.in the picture above.
In case you are not following my Instagram diary, here are some snaps since being back in my city. It’s been a sweet summer so far full of some crazy and fun moments with my friends. I hope you are all keeping things hot wherever you may be, and savouring the lazy days and sultry nights of the season.
