Since fashion and travel are a big part of my life, these recent photos are inspired by the gypset (gypsy + jet-set) life which Julia Chaplin explains in her book is about “an emerging group of artists, musicians, fashion designers, surfers, and bon vivants who lead semi-nomadic, unconventional lives….who have perfected a high-low approach to life that fuses the freelance and nomadic wile of a gypsy with the sophistication and global references of the jet-set.” To live like a true gypsetter, she advises “be spontaneous and wander” which is something I’m trying to embrace, with a boho-luxe wardrobe and modern conveniences of course.
You might remember here how much I love Marrakech, so as wanderlust consumes me I’ve already booked another trip to the red city for 2013. The fabulous itinerary includes staying at a swanky boutique hotel, daily yoga and meditation, champagne brunches, cooking at Richard Branson’s retreat, spa, shopping and more. I hope you too will jet-set somewhere exotic in the new year and if not, at least do so vicariously through Julia’s books Gypset Style or her latest, Gypset Travel.
