During my recent trip to NYC, I had the pleasure of visiting designer Bibhu Mohapatra at his chic new studio.  I’ve followed Bibhu’s career over the years from his days as Creative Director at J. Mendel to the progressive young designer occupying the CFDA Incubator space alongside Prabal Gurung and Waris Ahluwalia.  Now Bibhu’s in his glossy headquarters dressing even more starlets and socialites with his elegant gowns where each design is a work of art.  His latest Resort 2013 Collection is one of my favorites given that I’m madly in love with the exoticism of Marrakech.  Inspired by his own travels there, it’s a feast of vibrant colors found in the spice markets and patterns seen in Moorish architecture.  I can picture myself lounging poolside at a beautiful riad or wandering the labyrinth of the Grand Bazaar in any of the gorgeous pieces he’s created here!
