I initially went to Saturdays Surf NYC shop to grab a coffee since my hotel had recommended it.  Once inside I was completely surprised with the concept of an espresso bar within a surf shop.  Somehow, the coolest NY neighbourhood just got cooler in my eyes.  Between Starbucks around the corner and a shop with pretty surfer boys behind the counters or hanging out in their cozy backyard, it became an easy decision on where to grab my java.  I even did a bit of shopping and picked up a beautiful handmade bracelet for someone who loves the sport.  The store is full of so many other goodies as you can see from the pictures below.  Read the recent New York Times article here featuring Saturdays Surf and the urban surfing culture.
